Reading your reports

Start with a question: which pages are useful, where does interest come from, or which links do visitors choose?

Choose the website and dates

  1. Sign in to Analytics and select the team for your website. EOTS viewers should select EOTS.
  2. Open the website you want to review. Your account shows only websites assigned to you.
  3. Use the date selector to choose the period. Check the displayed dates and time zone before comparing or sharing results.
  4. Review active filters. A page or source filter narrows the result; clear it when you want the website total.

Use completed periods of the same length when comparing results. Today's partial count is not comparable to a full day. A new website may not yet have enough history for a useful comparison.

What the counts mean

Views
Recorded page loads. One person can generate several views.
Visitors
Estimates based on browser and network information, not identified people. Estimates change across days; adding daily counts does not give unique people over the whole period.
Visits
Our collection groups activity into UTC-hour buckets. Treat these as activity estimates, not exact browsing sessions.
Link clicks
Recorded choices of specific links. On RipleyNet, a contact or email-link click indicates interest; it does not confirm an inquiry was sent or a customer was gained.

Browser privacy preferences, blockers, connection failures, and service interruptions can reduce coverage. The reports describe recorded activity, not the entire audience. Geography stays disabled for Cybernut and JamesRipley.me. EOTS may show approximate country data from its country-reporting activation onward; earlier activity remains unknown. Countries may reflect VPNs or proxies. EOTS does not collect state, city, or precise location. Country reporting includes GeoLite Data created by MaxMind.

RipleyNet: estimated visitor location

In RipleyNet's website dashboard, use the location panel to switch between Countries, Regions, and Cities. Region means a state or similar area; city labels are approximate and may not match municipal boundaries. The labels describe the network location estimate, not a verified residence or service address. Unavailable locations and visits before activation remain unknown; previously created daily sessions can remain unknown until a new session is created.

For our New Jersey focus, compare complete monthly periods and look for sustained patterns around Mercer County, including Lawrenceville, Princeton, Trenton, and Hamilton. A nearby city label is a clue, not proof that a visitor is in that municipality. There is no county report in this release. Keep unknown locations in your interpretation, and distinguish recorded visits and clicks from inquiries or community impact.

These reports are restricted to the owner. Small groups can appear in the internal dashboard; avoid sharing screenshots or detailed location breakdowns. Aggregate any external claims over broader areas and longer periods, and withhold sparse breakdowns that could single someone out.

Empty or surprising results

Check the team, website, dates, and filters first. A missing website may be an access issue. A visible website with an empty period may simply have no recorded activity. Contact support with the website, date range, time zone, and a description of the problem.

EOTS and sponsor reporting

Episode-page views are not podcast listens. Sponsor impressions describe recorded visibility, not proof of attention; clicks are not sales.

Use an operator-reviewed sponsor summary for external claims. It applies the clean reporting boundary and consistent definitions; an unfiltered rolling dashboard can include earlier launch checks. See the EOTS reporting notes.
